The burgeoning multicultural landscape in Aurora reflects both opportunity and challenge. As the community thrives with a diverse and rapidly expanding population, it grapples to meet the urgent demand for skilled workers in vital industries like healthcare and construction.

The Attainment Network, in partnership with educators, industry leaders, and nonprofit organizations, is rising to meet this moment. Together, we’re expanding equitable opportunities for learners to gain the skills and education necessary to build rewarding careers in fields that strengthen Aurora’s economy and community.

“We’ve seen such great value in their thought leadership. They’re so connected with what’s happening nationally, with what’s happening around the state, with access to conferences, articles, programs, and conversations about how other districts are doing it. They’ve been really valuable in helping us navigate and learn from other folks.”

Jill Ruiter, executive director of the Aurora Public Schools Foundation.

Working together, the partners have made significant strides toward empowering learners and strengthening the community:

  • 170% increase in attainment of industry credentials
  • 23% rise in concurrent enrollment participation, including a 32% increase in participation by Hispanic students
  • Double the number of learners participating in work-based learning activities, including internships and apprenticeships

This is what progress looks like: partnerships that empower people, strengthen communities, and build the future we all share.
