Michelle Payne

Michelle Payne’s professional experience includes over 15 years in both public and private accounting with emphases in audit, tax, and accounting, spanning many industries including college and universities and nonprofit. She brings a deep understanding of process implementation, compliance, and reporting, with a passion for serving in the nonprofit space. Prior to joining The Attainment Network, Michelle was the Vice President of Finance at the Quad Cities Community Foundation in eastern Iowa. There she worked closely with the Board of Directors, donors, and nonprofits to ensure funds were appropriately managed, invested, and reported allowing fund holders to maximize their philanthropic impact in their own community and beyond.

Michelle earned her bachelor’s degree in Accounting from Minnesota State University, Mankato and is an active Certified Public Accountant in the state of Iowa and Colorado. Michelle is originally from Iowa and recently relocated to Colorado Springs in 2023 with her family, which includes her husband Mike and 3 children, Mariah, Madden, and Myles. We also can’t leave out Maci the poodle! As a family we love to be outdoors running, hiking, biking, skiing, and are finding endless places to explore so close to home.
